The Vail Symposium is proud to be a beneficiary of SteamMaster's Seventh Annual Charity Golf Tournament!
The tournament takes place on Friday, September 30 at Red Sky Ranch Golf Course. Red Sky Golf Course features two championship golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. The Courses are separated by a massive ridge, which serves as wildlife migration corridor for deer and elk. Great care was taken to preserve the natural landscape, including transplanting or re-vegetation of more than 25,000 native plants during the construction of the Tom Fazio golf course alone. Approximately 80 acres of sod was applied to each course, reducing the amount of fertilizer necessary for seed grow-in, which protected the nearby Eagle River from silt erosion, which is common when seed is used. Both Courses have breath-taking views and are registered as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries.
SteamMaster has raised over $230,000 over the last 6 years through the golf tournament and participated in numerous other fund-raising activities over the years. The beneficiaries of this year’s event will be Vail Valley Charitable Fund, Vail Symposium, Minturn Community Fund for their Family Emergency Fund and the Matthews Family Education Fund.
The tournament was founded in 2005 in memory of Kim Matthews, marketing director at SteamMaster, who passed away from liver cancer. The tournament is assisted by volunteers from various non-profit groups and individuals. Funds received for the Golf Tournament are tax deductible through Vail Valley Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) entity.
